The Balrog

I have no interest in monster figures, except mythical ones. However, I love LOTR and the Balrog kit called to me. 1/12 scale 3d resin print, h3LLcreator. Loved experimenting with OSL and flame techniques. I may keep tweaking this as I reconsider the OSL. Base is dull basalt floor with glossy obsidian pillars. The smoke is intended to be a dull internal glow, greying to smoke. for the flames I used the Vallejo true metallic metals paints. I already found they can have a translucent effect which is good for rendering fire. The osl glow is fluorescent paint and inks. After the initial round of OSL I darkened everything else down with sienna and burnt umber inks, then ultra matt varnished the non fire body parts
