This was a first. Never worked on clear resin models before. The father inlaw wanted a stealthed sniper for his Escher gang ordered a model which came in 4 varients. He wanted to get some paint on them but didnt know how or what to do. Ended up using contrast which... didnt go well.
I asked if I could have a go so he delived 2 models which I dropped in some Isopropl alchol and took the paint off. Then used some highly thinned paint to recess shade the model.
Sadly this didnt go as to plan as I hoped. The paint went a bit grainy which I shall keep in mind for the future.

Did you purchase or print these? I have been wanting to print with clear resin, but I know it is much more difficult to work with. So I have been afraid of trying it. I have only tried to paint clear resin once and it was some fairy wings. I used contrast paint and I did not get the desired effect either.
Two things if I may: goblin makes a stamp set folks have been using for phase/shield effects as a possibility to look into. I usually just blue or red wash invisible stuff so your milage may vary.
My buddy came up with an idea I used on some predators where you use silly putty to block off parts then base coat and paint then peel the putty and outline for a phasing in/out technique.
Cool to see some work in the clear resin. I’ve always been kind of scared of it myself. I heard Vincey V suggest to “prime” them with matte varnish then use transparent paints to give slight tinting.
