Edvard shook hands with the Sacristan then mounted the colossal stairs to reach his cockpit. The repairs had been completed with an artistry that would make a techpriest blush. Engines whirred into action. Holographic glyphs, some of languages long lost, sprung to life. A wolf sprung to life, snarling together across Edvard's vision, the machine spirit of Loup de Guerr, the Warwolf.

Safeties cycled, before actions were tested. The guns powered down were activated letting out a cough of energy. Still it was enough to deafen a hand full of servitors still milling around the dry dock.

Lightening cracked around the shields, pushing a layer of dust from her carapace and away by around a foot. Engines 1 and 2 were cool, but the temperature of the plasmagma could be seen rising, measured in Kelvin rather than Celsius.

The titan doors screeched and groaned open, their solid rockcrete blast doors throwing off weeks of iron filings and grease. The planet's suns flooded their light onto the great machine, as if giving their blessing, and approval. Behind the doors a vast crowd had formed, enforcers and militia forming a cordon for the colossal machine to walk down. It was a party atmosphere. Some fell to their knees in religious fervour, others cheered and whooped. Dancers in small clearings performed leaps and jumps. Music clashed across the throng.

Edvard smiled, and allowed his warhorns and little bells to sound, playing a fanfare. The crowd whipped up even more.
