Death Guard Plague Marines
Death Guard Plague Marines (Eazy Build) -- Games Workshop
I started these a while ago, and final got around to finishing the project. These were an experiment. I wanted to see how Death Guard would look with a metallic base (Dark Aluminum and White Aluminum (Vallejo Metal Color)). I painted the gross parts with primary colors (Bismuth Yellow and Magenta (Pro Acryl)) and did the trim in gold (Bright Gold and White Gold (Pro Acryl)). Then I made a yellow green oil wash.
I was not entirely happy with the results. The primary colors were too bright. I went over the horns, boils, tentacles with oil paint, and got smoother blends, and toned down the chroma of the primary painted parts. Then they sat, waiting to be finished.
Too finish them off I worked with Villainy Inks. Coelia Green, Decay of Death, Blighted Bone Ochre added the corruption that the oil wash did not deliver. Carrion Crimson and Umbral Nightshade helped push the chroma of the sores, tentacles, and other bits.
The bases were designed in TinkerCad, and printed in resin. E6000 glue makes excellent tumors. Herbs, beads, and added other corruption to the bases. The bases were painted with Dark Aluminum and White Aluminum. With the corruption painted with Pro Acryl's Expert Acrylics (Arylide Yellow Deep, Red Oxide Tint, Dioxazine Violet, Alizarin Crimson Hue). Then weathered and further corrupted by the same Villainy Inks as the Plague Marines
This was another fun project.
