Wizkids D&D Owlbear (Panda Pattern)

Finally got my hands on a pair of Owlbear miniatures from Wizkids’ ‘Nolzur’s Marvelous Miniatures’ product line. After asking some owlbear experts (read as: couple friends and two kids that love fantasy creatures) I decided to do a panda themed paint scheme with the first owlbear.
I feel I could have gone more whiter with the white sections of the body, but I also wanted a dusty, less clean look to the Panda Owlbear. Seeing some egg terrain bits, I went with the concept of ‘adventurers just disturbed this Panda Owlbear that is protecting its clutch of eggs.’ I found the pose of the miniature worked well with this concept: protective but instantly aggressive.
Miniature primed with Stynylrez primer.
All paints and mediums from Acrylicos Vallejo Game Colour line.
Ran out of ceramic stucco but had a little but if Citadel Technical’s Astrogranite Debris to base the mini.
Only complaint is that I wish Wizkids would have the body not attached to the rocky base, as some areas are hard to reach with the brush, but other than that, nice sculpt, great pose and looking forward to the second Owlbear to paint.
Took my time with this one, about twelve hours, though very likely I could have gone faster and still come up with this result.
Hope you enjoy, take care!
