A leap into madness: World Eater Raptors

I’m excited to share my unit of World Eater Raptors, built and painted for One Page Rules: Grimdark Future. This squad embodies the savage, predatory nature of the XIIth Legion — relentless, airborne murderers diving into battle with unmatched fury.

Models & Concept

These Raptors were created using a mix of Chaos jump infantry kits and selected Forge World and third-party bitz to enhance their feral, berserk look. The goal was to capture that unstable, blood-hungry energy that defines the World Eaters: dynamic poses, brutal weapons, and the sense that they’re moments away from tearing someone apart mid-air.

Painting Approach

I followed the proven World Eaters workflow from the Grimdark Compendium once again. The approach — layered tones, textured armor, skin variation and controlled oil grime — helped give the models the gritty, worn, hyper-violent style I wanted.
Extra attention went into weathering the jump packs and adding blood-spatter accents that feel earned, not excessive.

Why This Project?

Raptors always had that perfect blend of speed and savagery — a natural fit for the World Eaters’ philosophy. After finishing the first squad, I knew I wanted a fast-attack element that matched the same grimdark tone. This unit became the perfect extension of that vision.
