My first unit of Zealots! I had a lot of fun painting these. I love the dynamic poses, and they brought back memories of playing StarCraft as a kid and loving the Protoss despite not being very good at playing them.
I’m still a little mixed on the paintjobs. There are things I’d like to do better, but I’m happy with the separation in much of the armor and how the eyes turned out. I also like what I tried with the golds and psi blades.
For the photos, I imagined them exploring some Lost Temple ruins or charging in to recover an objective. I had fun putting my rocks and terrain to use and working out the lighting and focus stacking. I think my scenes are slowly getting better, even if my painting needs to catch up with my camera a bit.
I wanted to share a few different angles, even the ones that aren’t the most flattering for the painting. I’m happy with how these scenes came together and think they look pretty cool.
Also, sorry I’ve been a bit behind on catching up with everyone’s projects lately. I’ve been pretty deep in the StarCraft rabbit hole. Looking forward to seeing what you’ve all been working on!
