The Iron Sultanate is probably my favourite faction in Trench Crusade but I was really struggling with how to paint the warband. However a lucky trip to a charity shop gave me a set of oil paints that I really wanted to try out!
Because the Iron Sultanate are so different from the other factions, I wanted to depict them as having stepped out from a story book. By using the impasto style, slapping on the oil paint in thick layers, I think I've given them a very distinctive look!
