From GorkaMorka to Fire Fight: A Pale Ork Experiment

I’m happy to share my latest project: a crew of orc warriors from Blue Sky Minis, painted up for One Page Rules: Fire Fight.

Models & Concept
These orcs from Blue Sky Minis have tons of character and attitude — perfect for fast, punchy skirmishes. I wanted to give them a gritty, grimdark vibe that really fits the universe they fight in.

Painting Approach
I followed the awesome “How to Paint: Blood Mouths Clan – Pale Orks” tutorial by Quarter Paint, available on the Grimdark Compendium. I used the method as a foundation — layering, skin tones, textures — but also added some personal touches along the way to make the crew feel unique.

Details & Features
• Pale ork skin with strong contrast and rough, worn depth
• Rusted weapons and battle-damaged gear for that lived-in realism
• A cohesive overall color scheme, but with enough variation that each model has its own personality
• The bases are designed to fit the mood of Fire Fight — gritty, immersive, and totally game-ready

Why This Project?
Some friends and I decided on a GorkaMorka-style vibe for our Fire Fight games, and that finally gave me the excuse to try out the pale “solar skin” ork look — without having to paint a whole full-scale army first.
