Sanguinius

My fifth Primarch completed, with this amazing diorama of Sanguinius, the Great Angel and primarch of the 9th legion, the Blood Angels!

This is probably my favourite mini I've ever completed - Forge World's Sanguinius model is already really cool, and the addition of the optional diorama base just adds another layer of drama to the overall mini. It was also the first time I'd attempted to magnetise parts of a mini so I can swap them out - Sanguinius can now wield either his spear or sword, depending on my mood!

It was great to use the Vallejo True Metallic Metal range to make the Primarch's armour really pop, making this one of the more vibrant projects I've completed, while still learning into the grimdark setting.

I'm also extremely happy with his wings - I'd never considered using brown as a shade for white before, but its given the feathers a really nice, organic feel, which i think really suits. Suffice it to say I've also never tried a leopard-print pelt before, and I also love how that turned out.
