Hover Robots: Skeletor's Floating Minions

The Hover Robots are sculpted as classic pulp-tech drones—round bodies, spindly arms, and that unmistakable menacing electric grin. They drift above the battlefield like mechanical gnats, more nuisance than powerhouse, but perfect for swarming heroes and soaking up attention. They’re Skeletor’s answer to “quantity over quality”—a buzzing cloud of trouble that makes the board feel alive.

From a practical paint perspective, this was an early attempt of mine to get smooth and consistent blends on something mechanical looking. I started with 8 minions to paint and I probably tried 5 or 6 different methods before I found something I liked for these. If I had to do it all over again, I think this would be a much easier process, but at the time it was absolutely maddening, almost making me nauseous. I HATE painting multiples!
