First ever painted mini
I got a set of Tau Pathfinders to try painting to learn from and this is my first one. I wanted to experiment with color mixing and application on the mini. Learned that starting on a small 25mm tau was probably not the best choice. Also learned that my perfectionist side probably wants to do pre-assembly painting as there are too many touch to reach places that bothered me that I couldn't get done correctly. Primarily the gun across his chest...I've done a couple others from this set in different colors to experiment with and will keep going.
Also, I'm just using the cheap NicPro paints from Amazon as a starting point. I'll experiment and look into other paint brands as I get better at the craft.
I ordered some 35mm models from iron shield army that I think I'll be able to learn more from with leather and metal armor, swords, cloaks, dresses, skin, and wings to try out different skills. I'll share those after I get them to see how I'm doing. Any feedback or advice is greatly appreciated.
