Awakening

This piece is based on the Matricor by PiperMakes. This was supposed to be a quick project with most of the model sponge painted but it kind of got out of hand after I was remind of the "Room of Rah" from the anime RahXephon and I immediately had to do create a display somewhat inspired by the setting. The model is still mostly painted with sponges although I did go back in with some airbrush glazing at the end to smooth the finish a touch. Details and highlights are hand painted with pro-acryl. The gold parts specifically are done with Pro-Acryl Copper, Rich Gold and Bright Gold. The orb is painted with Turbo Dork Blue Raspberry wich was then masked and painted over with matte black to produce lines running around the sphere. Water effects are from woodland scenics and the "stairs" are suspended using clear acrylic rods covered in running water effects.
