The next in my series of Character Series models from the Horus Heresy. This time, I've focused on the 4th Legion, The Iron Warriors, so here's my take on the Warsmith Barban Falk!
I really enjoyed this one - I had been dreading the hazard patterns on the shoulder guard, but I finally got around to trying out the pink basecoat for painting yellow onto, and it worked great! I love how rich the yellow came out, and with much less hassle than usual. I enjoyed the result so much I expanded it onto the hoses feeding his weapon!
I experimented with some different metallic feels here, going with a duller, more greenish gold for the armour embellishments, as that seemed to fit the muted colour palette of the Iron Warriors a bit better. I also tried out a slight rust effect for his hammer, quite happy with how that turned out too!
