Mir Kainan

Mir Kainan, Warhammer Underworlds – Kainan's Reapers (Ossiarch Bonereapers). A Mortisan Executioner sent by Nagash into the Direchasm to collect the long overdue bone tithe from the Silent People.

The last model from my six-member warband, and I deliberately saved the leader for the end – by that point I'd already worked through the techniques on the previous members, so I went into it with more confidence. The armour is blue, matching the rest of the warband, and I used NMM on the metal fittings and the blade, which turned out to be my best NMM on the whole warband so far. The blade sits at an awkward angle though, and I wrestled with it for a while – in the end I leaned the highlights slightly yellow, tying them to the base colour so it all reads together. Beyond that, I also tackled the leather loincloth, trying to capture a subtle material texture – I think that part came together well and stays consistent with the rest of the warband's style.
