Leader of the Fall: Airborne Berserker Champion

Skyborne Executioner: Converted World Eaters Champion
I’m excited to introduce the first hero of my World Eaters force — a converted Champion built to lead my Raptors straight from the skies into brutal, close-quarters slaughter.
Models & Concept
This model started with the outstanding Captain Morgan Sergeant body from the Chaos Space Marine Havocs kit — a sculpt full of presence, aggression and motion.
From there, I pushed him further into the aesthetic of a true XIIth Legion sky-hunter:
• A custom jetpack, based on an .stl file I can sadly no longer locate, giving him an aggressive, airborne silhouette
• A brutal CHAINAXE from Red-Warden-Miniatures, continuing the signature weapon look across the entire army
• A characterful head from my bits box, chosen specifically to give him a feral, seasoned expression
The goal was to create a Champion that feels like a natural leader for my Raptors: fast, hungry for blood, and unafraid to descend straight into the carnage.
Painting Approach
Like the rest of the army, he was painted in a grimdark World Eaters style — textured whites, corrupted reds, deep shadows and worn metals.
Extra attention went into:
• Heat and soot effects on the jetpack
• Edge damage and chipping across the armor
• Subtle blood splatter around the axe and lower limbs
• Enhancing the sense of motion and violence
Details & Features
• Heavily converted hero built from Havocs, 3D parts and classic bits
• Brutal Red-Warden-Miniatures axe for strong Legion identity
• Jetpack silhouette designed to match and lead the Raptor squad
• Atmospheric grimdark painting to reinforce speed and brutality
• A unique centerpiece that ties together the airborne elements of the army
Why This Project?
I wanted a Champion who could truly lead my Raptors — someone who doesn’t just keep up with them, but embodies their explosive aggression.
This model became the perfect expression of that idea: a custom, grimdark hero dropping from the heavens with rage, speed, and a chainaxe ready to carve a path.
