Sindan

This was a fun mini to paint. I had picked it randomly from a large pile of printed DM Stash miniatures. I was struggling to figure out a good color palette on this guy, and my husband suggested I use a card from my color cubes. There are 500 cards to choose from, so I used a random number generator and ended up with a very brightly colored card. Definitely not all what I was picturing when I initially was looking at the model, but I still suck with the randomly chosen color palette!

It almost looks outside your normal style but feel like it’s extra striking because of that. Maybe? I guess it’s like an expansion of your style. I felt that way when I saw that other piece of yours with a limited palette.

Beautiful work nonetheless. Killer job on those tattoo sleeves.

Ha, that is an interesting approach. Out of curiosity: Does the colour cube give you the entire palette or did you randomly roll colours on it until you were happy with the number of colours.

I love the idea of some dude facing your warrior. "Ha dude, your armguards are pink - what's wrong with you?".

Sindan did not answer - his giant hammer did.

This looks good its nice to see a model like this in more vibrant colours than the usual drab desaturated reds or browns 🤩

Using a colour cube to give you a random pallete is a neat idea too! I would be intrested to try it myself as I have my eye on Ninjons deck of many colours, but I know theres also a book of colour swatches too (cant remember its exact title) which might be a fun way to do how you do with the cubes.
