Kostia "Professor" Fiodorov

Miniature from the board game Zona: The Secret of Chernobyl (Rebel).

This one's part of a smaller series I'm painting speedpaint-style with a limited palette — the basic Ionic Smart Color set plus gunmetal and silver metallics. They came together gradually during visits to my board game club, not in my usual painting setup, and the pace shows that.

The sculpts on this game are honestly nowhere near what I'm used to — a lot of detail is soft or barely there, and in some spots I had to clean up pretty rough mould lines. Even with those limits, I tried to get each figure to a level that holds up on the table, and to put at least one personal touch into every one of them.

For Kostia I stuck to the color scheme from the character's official art — in the game he's the group's storyteller, the one who embellishes their tales over vodka, which helped me lean toward a more worn-in, unpolished look with the colors. On the thighs and knees I tried out a worn-denim texture, then a base skin tone and simple shading on top.

The details youve got on this are great! The texture on the clothing is really well done 🤘
