The Butcher’s Line: Second World Eaters Squad

Bloodbound Brothers: World Eaters Squad II

I’m proud to share the second squad of my World Eater Chaos Space Marines, built and painted for One Page Rules: Grimdark Future. With this unit, I wanted to deepen the identity of the warband — more aggression, more scars, more grimdark atmosphere.

Models & Concept

This squad was assembled using a combination of modern Chaos kits and select Forge World bitz to preserve that brutal, old-school World Eaters aesthetic. Each Marine is posed and equipped to reinforce the theme of a relentless frontline unit: disciplined enough to advance together, but feral enough to tear through anything in their path.

The idea was to make them feel like hardened veterans — surviving countless battles, bearing trophies and marks of their devotion to Angron’s legacy.

Painting Approach

Once again, the Grimdark Compendium’s World Eaters tutorial served as the backbone of the paint scheme. Layered whites, corrupted reds, textured grime, muted metal, and oil shading all help push the models toward that gritty, oppressive look I want for the force.

For this squad, I introduced a bit more visual variation: different skin tones, extra edge damage, and subtle dried blood effects to emphasize their brutality.

Details & Features
• Forge World and kitbash elements for individuality
• Heavily weathered armor with combat damage
• Subtle variations in skin, grime, and blood effects
• Extra trophies and chains to highlight their battles
• Cohesive with the first squad, but distinct in personality

Why This Project?

After finishing the first unit, I realized how much I enjoyed exploring the World Eaters’ grimdark identity. This second squad allowed me to expand the warband and refine the aesthetic — pushing the brutality, texture, and atmosphere even further. They form the backbone of the force I always wanted to build since those classic Forge World kits first appeared.
