This is an older project I painted about four years ago. The Stormcast and the Orruk came from the Games Workshop magazine Getting Started with Warhammer Age of Sigmar, which also included a painting guide. I set myself two challenges with them.
The first was gold NMM on the entire Stormcast. It was one of my first challenges of this kind. The Orruk has no NMM, so the gold is only on the Stormcast.
The second was building a scene around the two miniatures. I made the large rock and the surrounding terrain from cork and Milliput.
Today I would do a lot of things differently. I’d make the rock much more textured, because mine is quite smooth. I’d try adding a wire lightning effect to the Stormcast and do more to support the scene overall. The gold NMM would look different today too.
