He-man on Battlecat

I originally painted He‑Man on Battle Cat in a fairly casual way, simply as part of my ongoing work for the Masters of the Universe: Clash for Eternia board game. I wasn’t aiming for anything beyond enjoying the sculpt and bringing the iconic duo to life on the tabletop. As the project came together, though, I realized the piece had turned out to be fun and full of character. By sheer luck, I finished it just in time to submit to Spraygunner’s annual miniature painting contest, so on a whim, I entered it, and to my surprise it ended up winning in the Fantasy category. What started as a relaxed painting session became a showcase piece, and it was very cool to see this classic pair recognized in such a fun competition.
