Sabertooth

Wanted to lean into a gritty, very painterly style for this one and completely avoid blending everything smoothly. The goal was to keep him looking rugged while staying firmly in that comic book sketch world.
​I leaned heavily into deep shadows and more desaturated tones while still pushing high contrast across the muscles. This model was very much a palette cleanser that really grew on me as I worked through it. The ultimate goal was just to deliver a raw style that intertwines perfectly with Sabretooth's brutal comic book storyline!
