Aegis Assault Transport

While the Ammit and Makara are versatile and serviceable infantry fighting vehicles in their own right, Krevarian commanders wanted a transport capable of fighting alongside the heavy Durandal breakthrough tank in the most dangerous combat zones.

Engineered on the same suspension as the Durandal, the Aegis in its original form is a platoon-level transport capable of carrying over twenty Dragoons into combat with impressive mobility and durability. Twin powerplants in the rear sponsons provide the vehicle with high speeds, and an array of weapon mounts allow the transport to support its troops with impressive firepower. Twin automatic mortars are a common turret choice, while rapid-firing Gyroc weapons often are mounted in the casemates.

A common variant of the Aegis is the -53RV, which trades some of its transport capacity for increased life support capacity, bunks and a small galley. These modifications make the vehicle suitable for extended patrols with less need for support. Both the standard and extended range variants of the chassis can be seen without the mortar or anti-aircraft turret to cut down on crew requirements and open up even more interior room.

With its large interior, high roofline, and heavy armor, the Aegis was also quickly adopted as a command and control platform. Trading the upper turret for an advanced communications mast, a single Aegis CV can coordinate a large number of subordinate troops efficiently.
