1990s McVey Inspired Dark Angels Captain

Hello and Happy Thursday all! I started this little project a few weeks back while I was working on that rather large boi I posted last week. I was getting stir crazy and needed a "me" project, so since Im heading into my "Dark Angels Phase", I thought it would be fun to kick off the next few months with a re-creation of a very special mini from my youth.

Some of you may remember the original Dark Angel Captain that Mike McVey did back in the early 90s which graced the pages of random White Dwarf magazines and a few of the old GW painting guides. Well, I dediced to challenge myself and re-create that old bad lad in current times using my personal style of Grim Bright! Quite a few folks who Ive been updating on the project as it went along asked me if I was happy with how he turned out... and you know what? I very much am! So much so that I think I will enter him in LVO this coming October as my second "Single Mini" entry (along side my Blood Angels Termie Chaplain I posted a few weeks back).

Anywho, I hope you all dig this very special ode to Mike McVey! Though, starting next week and for the following month or so after I will be posting "Thursday Throwbacks" to a squad of Dark Angel Deathwing Termies I painted up in the late 00s to keep the Dark Angels theme going, and to give me enough time to get my Tactical Squad done along with the Dark Angels painting tutorial.
