This was my third time painting Theoden since I started painting miniatures again.
He's always been my favourite character from LOTR and Bernard Hill did an amazing job bringing him to the screen.
For this version I mostly followed Duncan Rhodes's tutorial, though I did have to substitute his paints for citadel ones.
The sculpt is really detailed and accessible, the only sub-assembly I used was leaving the shield separate.
My favourite part was doing the gold and brown armour. While it was tricky to see in places, I think it turned out really well overall.
The hardest part was the highlights on the leather barding, not because it was difficult, but because it was time consuming trying to get the edges of each panel.
Overall, I'm really pleased with how he turned out, especially as I can see the progress I've made between him and the older versions.

Base Paints
Stunning! You can really tell you spent a lot of time on all the little details. The armour looks amazing. I really love the look of the parts on Theodan's legs and the bottom of the horses blanket/armour. The attention to the base is lovely as well! Great job!
