Andras, the Knight of Wands

The Grimdark Trials on Instagram was hosting a contest called the Dread Arcana, where you get a random tarot card drawn from the Ars Goetia deck and you have to create a miniature that represents the card. I was drawn The Knight of Wands, with the demon Andras. The Knight of Wands represents constant movement and change and a desire for adventure. Andras, however, demands exacting recompense for whatever you desire.

If you want power, you'll get it at the cost of everything. If you want fame, you'll burn down the village to keep warm. I decided to paint the knight model I got with the front more clean and normal but with the other parts decayed and gross, symbolizing the Knight's desire for more fame and glory having unseen costs. His face is sullen and decayed and shows that he is unable to stop. The ground beneath him and behind him is charred and destroyed. His horse is falling apart as is his armor.

It doesn't matter, the goal is all that matters. Damn everything else.
