The king in yellow

Acquired from the monument hobbies booth at adepticon, I painted up Dr rhinos King in yellow sculpt using techniques I've been practicing over the past year with army painting. Making heavy use of brain byte games paint, I laid down value with lilac, mixing it with grey to get the shadows before using a yellow glazing paint to get the base yellow cloth. I painted the crown using rose gold and gold from huge miniatures and base coated the bones and antlers with lilac before painting them bone white then highlighting with shadow skull and mossy skull (two bone like paints with blue and green tones respectively). I also used brain byte games stain caustic acid to add weathering and shadows. Then I painted the hands with multiple blues, moving up the highlight range to shadow skull as the final highlight. The base is monument hobbies fine snow painted over with a dark desaturated blue and added small spots of a dark blue. The model is on a 50mm base and was a complete joy to paint
