The Mighty Thor

This is the enlarged golden Thor miniature from the 2018 Blood Rage Digital Kickstarter from CMON. While the gold effect is cute, it's such a cool miniature and I felt deserved an epic paint job for the game. I wanted him with lightning striking his hammer and to play off of the frozen north theme. This was also an experiment in more dynamic OSL - with bright light coming from the lightning but then this dark, desaturated blue refractory light from the storm clouds on his other side. This ended up being more challenging than I anticipated but I had a great time with it and really felt like I learned a lot in the process. The ice floe he's standing on was a last minute a-ha as I was trying to figure out how to sketch a quick base. I ended up moving during this project and didn't have quite as much time to work on him as I'd hoped, so while I was able to attach the lightning bolt today, I wasn't able to find my Milliput to smooth the join and there are some small touch-ups I would have liked to give more attention to. But happy to share this as a finished product and really proud of the final result!
