This project was done originally for a local competition at the Dragon's Lair, located in Austin, TX. The prompt for the competition was to do a piece limited the palette of the logo of the store, which is Green, Yellow, Orange, Black/White, and at least 1 metallic.
Tough.
So I went through my pieces and found an old Reaper model, the Halloween Knight, that I figured would be perfect. I also saw this as an opportunity to attempt a backdrop, something I haven't done yet as a painter.
The end result, while not perfect, I'm happy with. I think I learned a lot about ambience, which comes from the backdrop, which I revised 3 times during this project. My first version had a sculpted moon on the right, which caused some composition issues. Big love to the Texas Miniature Painters community for the feedback.
