A Shield in the Dark

A Shield in the Dark was painted over 2 weeks for the Dragon Fall 2025 painting exhibition. The concept came from another dreadnought I'd seen that was holding a piece of concrete to shield a guardsman or marine. I wanted to do my own take for the redemptory in my Space Wolves army. Since my Space Wolves are based/themed around a battle with Tyranids, I tore apart a Zoanthrope to make the impromptu sniper's nest. It was a challenge getting this piece done within the time period, but I'm really happy with the result. I will show it in Golden Demon at Adepticon 2026 before using it in my playable army.
