Designed by a friend, I got a copy of the bust and knew very early on what I wanted to do with it. I had just finished a replay of Cyberpunk 2077 and knew he would fit perfectly into that kind of dystopian world.
I started with my airbrush to lay out a sketch of where the light could go and started blocking in bits. Then I had the idea to add cybernetics to it, gotta start free-handing somewhere after all, so I added face lines and then winged the arm to see what would work.
This was the project that had me recognise how important texture is to larger scale stuff, as I usually only paint 32mm space marines. After this I did an Imperial Knight entirely in NMM (also posted here) to practice specifically that.
Even so, I'm happy with how this guy came out, he pushed me in a lot of areas and I learned a lot from it.

Kolinsky Sables
Killer photos. Great backdrop selection and the depth of field is perfect.
Really appreciate you detailing some of your process here. Marvelous to see how some of it came together. Lovely work.
