The Blackbird Man Lady Thing

I had this as part of a Dark Souls inspired collection and wanted to get it done. I had to initially clean supports from the wings which took a loooooong time and had fo rig up a way to make this thing stand on a base. I went with an assassin base from my Trench Crusade backlog and by the power of super glue I set the base together, the body onto the base, and the swords onto the arms. I base coated the whole model in Turnbull Torquise followed by dry brushes of uniform grey and white. I dusted the wings in Irridescent Pearl from Golden before hitting areas with Moon Dust Yellow. I painted the wings with thinned Turnbull Torquise and the bird lady body with the same.

For the armor and such I did heavy metal with dry brushed Irridescent Pearl and everything was washed down with Grimdark Shadow. The eyes and gems are done with Moondust Yellow. The swords are Seafoam Green speed paint, white, plasma coil glow, more Seafoam, then a final dry brush of white. The head was done with Highlord Blue before being highlighted with uniform grey. I attached the wings after I had this done and realized I didn't like how flat the wings ended up looking.

I edge highlighted the wings with uniform grey before using thinned Cloud Burst Blue speed paint to unify the wings and it was where I wanted it to end up. I took the seafoam Green and used it neat as a glow effect in the wings for OSL. The base is my usual zenithal with wash to keep it dark with grim rust on the metal girders and Irridescent Pearl washed down for the stones.

I wanted to keep this model dark and play around with a black bird type creature and had a blast doing this one.
