Sometimes the dungeon isn't stone and torchlight. Sometimes it's a narrow crawlspace and sunken caverns that opens onto something no one expected: a hidden growth, lush and strange. It might be an oasis, a quiet forest where weary adventurers can finally rest. Or it might be the Glade of the Damned, where the trees are watching and the horrors have no names.
This piece is from Epic Encounters: Glade of the Evil Oak by Steamforged Games, and it served as the setting for the final chapter of my D&D group's campaign. Painting it meant bringing that last battle to life on the table.
I painted it with a mix of Monument Hobbies Pro Acryl, Army Painter Fanatic and Speedpaints, 1Step paints, and a variety of washes.
