2nd Edition Grim Bright Ultramarine Marneus Calgar

Hi all! I saved the best for last with my Ultramarines and Id like to present the good ol chapter master himself, Marneus Calgar! I never painted this big fisted lad in my younger years when he originally came out, so this was a bit of fun. Nothing better than a Jes Goodwin sculpted character mini from the oh so awesome Grim Bright era!

I know its not his original back banner, but I was racking my brain on what to do for his banner setup. Wound up digging thru one of my mini storage boxes and found a sculpted banner from an old Commander kit. I replaced the bottom of the pole with a nail head and hid a magnet in the top of Calgars backpack so I can take the banner pole off for easier transport. I still struggle a bit with fine text on minis, cant wrap my head around how folks are doing caligraphic style text on theirs in such tiny spaces! But, I guess practice makes perfect with more experience via trial and error. Dont get to do a ton of text on my minis, so maybe Ill have to work on it!
