Fowl Temper

This is my mercenary outfit that I competed with in Southern Assault held in Clemmons NC in November of 2025. The name of the outfit is Fowl Temper. In this tournament I walked away with 1st Place in Best Painted. Southern Assault is a Battletech Alpha Strike tournament held annually.

These are painted up in comic book style. This includes the models themselves, as well as the bases. Most of the bases are painted in a 2 dimensional comic book style as well.

I painted this force up using acrylic inks with only the smallest amount of Vallejo paints to add body to the inks when I was painting the highlights. I mixed up my own colors to create my own teal and purple base coats. I used the base teal mixture and added in one drop of processed yellow ink and one additional drop of white ink to create the first highlights for the teal. This really brought out the green in the teal where it initially was more on the blue side. For the secondary highlights on the teal I took the first highlight mix and added in titanium white ink until I got the desired look. For the purple I mixed up my own using inks as well. For the highlights I used a Vallejo purple paint and titanium white ink mixture for the first highlights, and added additional titanium white. For the secondary highlights I added more titanium white until I reached the additional color.
The numbers on the models were all hand painted, as well as the outlining of said numbers were done by hand.

The black lining and shading was done using waterproof calligraphy ink.
