Legionnaire - 2

** Uncommon Ground - Basing Challenge)
Chaos Space Marine Legionary
Warhammer 40,000 -- Games Workshop

This was an experiment. I haven't been happy with my last attempts at painting CSM in my Midsommer chaos cult scheme. This time I decided to paint the legionnaire using Turbo Dork's Mother Load Turboshift paint. The goal was to get a brighter and cleaner armor. In my headcanon, the CSM are angelic messengers for the cult. I think the white pearlescent armor captures this. Also, this color schema has better contrast between the gold filigree and the white armor panels.

I also decided to switch up the base from one that has an OSL effect, to a weathered base. I stuck with an alienesque hex base (Zabavka Workshop's Sci-fi Hex Base). I used static grass and painted it with metallic paint -- it was somewhat successful, but the technique needs more work.
