Introducing Notifications

Discovering great painted miniatures has been the core of the Baselair experience since launch. You'd scroll through and filter the grid, explore people’s collections, and find inspiration from painters all over the community. And that worked.

But somewhere along the way, it started to feel one-sided.

You’d share your work and never really know if it was noticed. Someone could follow you, comment on a model you spent weeks on, or drop a like on something you were proud of — and you'd never find out unless you kept your own daily tallies of interactions. There was activity, but the signal wasn't getting through.

We’re changing that. Today, we’re introducing Notifications.

Stay connected to moments that matter

Notifications on Baselair are designed to keep you connected to the community you’re building around your work. When someone likes a model you posted, leaves a comment, or follows you, you'll know. Challenge and other platform updates are covered too, whether a new exhibition drops that you might want to enter or results have been announced for a competition you submitted to. You can access your notifications feed from the new bell icon in the top nav.

This community is full of painters liking projects, sharing comments, curating collections — but that activity has largely been invisible to the people it's directed at. Posting your work is one side of the equation, but seeing it resonate with others reminds you that you're not painting alone.

These moments have been happening on Baselair since the beginning, and now you’ll know about them.

What’s next?

We're just getting started with notifications. Our next step is to add daily email digests, so you can catch up on everything at a glance, and push notifications, so you can interact with the community in real-time.

We hope this new feature makes Baselair feel a little more alive for you — and as always, thank you for being part of the community.
