Terms of Service
Last updated: April 11, 2026
Welcome to Baselair — the best community for miniature painters to share their work, discover inspiration, and connect with fellow hobbyists.
Baselair is owned and operated by Side Ventures, LLC. By accessing and using this website, you agree to be bound by these terms, our privacy policy, all applicable laws and regulations, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable laws. Please read the following terms carefully. If you do not agree with the terms, please don't use the platform.
1. Platform Usage
To join our community and share your work, you'll need to create a Baselair account. Keep your login info safe and personal — you're responsible for what happens on your account. If you spot any unauthorized access, please let us know ASAP.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
Avoid offensive usernames, impersonating someone else, or violating trademarks. If that happens, we might have to change your username or, in rare cases, suspend your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts that break these rules or our community guidelines. If your account is suspended, we'll usually send you an email explaining why and how you might fix it.
2. Contributions
The following content is encouraged to be shared on Baselair:
- Photos of your fully painted miniatures and other hobby projects
- Photos of your fully painted competition entries
- Hobby-related questions and discussions
The following content is not permitted to be shared on Baselair:
- Content you don't have rights to share
- Content that contains nudity without an appropriate content warning or blur
- Content that promotes or glorifies hatred, discrimination, or violence toward any person or group based on race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, nationality, or political belief, including targeted harassment, regardless of framing or artistic intent
- Content that intends to make a political statement by means of imagery and use of recognizable symbols or figures in a way that a reasonable person would find provocative or inflammatory
- Spammy or purely promotional posts
- AI-generated art or randomly-generated content
- Anything that violates laws or encourages illegal behavior
- Excessive watermarks or text that detract from the community experience
- Links to counterfeit models or recasts
- Content featuring dangerous techniques or materials without proper safety warnings
- Phishing attempts or content designed to mislead users
Baselair is a community platform for miniature art, not a free advertising channel or a space for political debate. Posts that exist primarily to promote the sale of retail products or to make a political statement are not permitted.
You may share links to your own shop, YouTube, Patreon, or other social media profiles on your profile page, but please don't include them in project descriptions or comments. If you want to discuss politics or share politically charged content, there are plenty of other spaces for that — Baselair isn't one of them.
We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules or our community guidelines. For borderline cases, we'll reach out in an effort to discuss the matter before taking action.
3. Content & Copyright
You own the rights to everything you post on Baselair — full stop. We're just grateful you're sharing your work with the community.
By uploading content (like photos, text, or project info), you're giving us permission to display it on the platform and use it to promote Baselair and the miniature painting hobby. That includes things like featuring your work on our homepage, sharing it on social media, using it in newsletters, marketing emails, or even in advertising. We might also feature your work in online or print publications to help grow the community.
This license is non-exclusive, worldwide, and royalty-free — meaning you're free to post your work elsewhere, and we don't owe you compensation for using it in ways that support Baselair. If your content is featured in existing posts, newsletters, or promos, it may continue to appear there even after removal — but we won't use it in new materials once it's been deleted from the site.
Baselair may explore monetization in the future, and your content may appear alongside ads, premium features, or sponsorships. By using the platform, you agree to this and won't hold us legally responsible for the ways your publicly shared content might support or appear in monetized parts of the site.
We aim to credit artists whenever we feature their work, especially in editorial or showcase content. That said, some formats (like social media posts or ads) may not always allow for direct attribution. Even in those cases, our intention is always to highlight and support the artists behind the work.
We'll never sell your images to third parties or use your content for anything unrelated to promoting Baselair or the miniature painting hobby. If you'd prefer not to have your work featured in print or external media, just let us know and we'll respect that.
Please don't upload other people's work without permission. If you're sharing a technique, conversion, or paintjob inspired by someone else, give credit where it's due — our community thrives on shared creativity and mutual respect.
If you believe your copyright has been violated, please contact us so we can look into it and take the appropriate action.
4. Monetization
Baselair is a passion project, but we'd love to see it grow into something sustainable that keeps supporting the community long-term. In the future, we may explore different ways to generate revenue. That could include things like:
- Displaying third-party ads and/or sponsored content from hobby-related brands
- Offering paid memberships with additional or premium features
- Allowing users to post and/or browse commission painting services and opportunities
- Enabling sales of painted miniatures and/or other hobby-related products
- Partnering with creators, brands, or other third parties to offer workshops, tutorials, painting competitions, or other premium content
- Accepting donations from supporters to help fund future development, improvements, and ongoing hosting costs
- Securing sponsorships from companies in hobby space
Your content might appear alongside or within these forms of monetization — for example, in ads, promoted showcases, or premium areas of the site. By posting on Baselair, you agree that this is okay and won't seek compensation for your content appearing in those contexts.
We'll always aim to keep things fair, respectful, and true to the spirit of the hobby. And if any monetization directly involves your work in a bigger way (like licensing for a paid course or something similar), we'll reach out and talk it through to make sure its a win-win first.
5. Community Guidelines
We're building a supportive community where everyone feels welcome. Here's how we can all contribute to that:
- Be kind and supportive — no bullying or harassment
- Share constructive feedback when asked, but always be respectful
- Celebrate all skill levels — from first-time painters to competition winners
- Appreciate different painting styles — not everyone aims for competition standard
- Be mindful of our global community's diverse perspectives
- When giving feedback, focus on specific, helpful suggestions
- Keep discussions focused on the hobby we all love
- Remember there's a real person behind every project and comment
If we find accounts or comments that break this spirit, we may remove them. Repeat offenders may have their accounts suspended or terminated. We believe in second chances, but our priority is maintaining a supportive community of artists whose primary goal is to share and grow the hobby of miniature painting.
6. Security and Abuse
We want Baselair to run smoothly for everyone. Please don't try to hack, scrape, or overload the site. This includes bots, automated content, or anything that interferes with normal use—we're a community space, not a playground for exploits.
Technical no-gos include:
- Circumventing security measures or accessing restricted areas
- Probing for vulnerabilities (unless you're reporting them responsibly — thanks!)
- Using multiple accounts to manipulate views, likes, or comments
We proactively monitor traffic patterns and may temporarily block suspicious IPs to keep things safe for everyone.
7. Termination
You can delete your account anytime from your settings. When you do:
- Your profile disappears immediately
- Your projects will be removed from public view within 24 hours
- Comments remain but will be anonymized (unless you delete them first)
- Backups stick around for 30 days for legal/technical reasons
We also reserve the right to restrict or remove accounts that violate our rules. For minor issues, we usually follow a warning system:
- A heads-up explaining the problem
- Temporary access limits if it continues
- Full account termination for repeated or serious misuse
8. Liability
We do our best to keep Baselair running smoothly, but we can't guarantee it'll always work perfectly. Use it at your own risk — we're not liable for any damages, data loss, or interactions with third parties that happen while using the site.
We take security seriously and put reasonable protections in place, but no system is perfect. It's always smart to back up important content just in case.
We don't endorse or verify products, services, or content shared by users. Be cautious when buying, selling, or following advice from others in the community.
Any hobby techniques or tips shared on Baselair are provided by fellow painters. Always do your own research and follow safety best practices — especially when working with paints, glues, tools, or any potentially hazardous materials.
9. Disclaimer
Baselair is provided "as is." We don't make any guarantees about accuracy, reliability, or how well the site or its content will work for your specific needs. We don't promise any outcomes from using the platform, and we're not responsible for any issues that might arise from relying on content shared here — including hobby tips, product recommendations, or external links. By using Baselair, you agree that you're using it voluntarily and accept any risks that come with that.
10. Trademarks and Logos
The Baselair logo, badges, brand slogans, and the like are the property of Side Ventures, LLC., and may only be used with express permission. The Baselair interface may appear in screenshots and videos without express permission, providing the author makes a fair effort to link back to the Baselair website.
Please contact us if you have any questions or to request permission.
11. Reserved Names
Baselair has the right to maintain a list of reserved usernames which will not be made publicly available. These reserved names may be set aside for purposes of proactive trademark protection, avoiding user confusion or imitation, security measures, or any other reason. Additionally, we reserve the right to change any already-claimed username at our discretion. In such cases, we will make a reasonable effort to find a suitable alternative and assist with the transition process.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms at any time without notice. If we do, we'll post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the platform means you accept any updates we make to these terms. If you don't agree with the changes, you should stop using Baselair and delete your account.
13. Privacy
We care about your privacy. We collect basic information like your email address and username to operate your account, and we use cookies to improve site performance. We never sell your personal data to third parties. For a complete overview of our data practices, please see our separate Privacy Policy.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, and any disputes will be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction in the United States without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
15. Contact
