Monthy Python's Nude Organist

Monty Python’s Nude Organist is one of those surreal gags that only works because it shouldn’t. A solemn organ performance, the kind you’d expect to open a grand concert hall… except the performer is completely naked, sitting there as if nothing is out of the ordinary. Best known when played by Terry Jones, he’s less a musician than a punchline in human form, proof that in Python’s world, even the most respectable traditions can be stripped bare.
I painted this the night before the Monty Python Zombicide painting contest deadline in a marathon 13 hour overnight stretch. In the end, I did end up one of the winners, though who knows how many entries they actually received. I was never exactly happy with my paint job and I was plagued with problems while working on it, but I was dead set on entering that contest.
In any case I got a nice little prize out of it and in true Monty Python form, the shirt was 6 sizes too small, so were the socks, and I got a fresh box of the minis that I'd just painted for the contest. Perfection.
