Decker the *Dungeon Delver*

The Burrowbreaker fears not the dark, nor what the shadows might hold. The crushing weight of the earth above is a reality, but a job's gotta be done. The sound of the drill and the smell of hot grease that keeps the drill turning and earth moving is the necessary reassurance to keep two hands on the machine. The faint orange glow from the bit means the drill is doing what it was made for, drilling the earth. Without it, the faint glow of the headlamp is awfully cold comfort.

Decker the Burrowbreaker was painted with a base layer of black primer, and value sketching highlights onto the primer in white. The rubble beneath his feet is made of coffee grounds, and a small, dying tuft of wargaming grass was added to the base for visual appeal, as well as theming of a sparse dungeon. The paints across each color block (belt, suspenders, shirt, hard hat, etc.) were blended via glazing after being value sketched according to the highlights. The coloring of the drill bit (to simulate the metal becoming 'red-hot') was primarily done via dry-brushing, as well as some wet blending. The metallic paint surfaces on tools and hardware were painted with an initial color, and lightly dry-brushed to imitate scuffing and wear on the tools.
