When Dracoya tosses out a challenge requiring primaries and mixing your own, I stepped up! Alec, a friend of mine and fellow painter sent me this Warlord Judge Dredd vs. Judge Death mini diorama piece a while ago, and I needed a reason to paint it and get it out of my pile of opportunity.
I leveraged a few primaries in my palette, including Army Painter, Bear Cav, Golden, and Kimera.
This took about 2 and half days of effort, probably 6 hours tops? Midway through, I was like "this needs skulls" so skulls and bones it got!
Had a lot of fun putting together colors, which allowed me to root each color in it's base. The green starts in blue, the dark blue starts in blue, the red is pure red, there's even magenta in the form of a flesh wash. The model was metal, which meant it came with some issues, but nothing too wild.
All in all, a great "refresh" after spending so much time with Onslaught.
