Results from LVOs Verkos Vault painting competition

Hi all! Over the weekend I attended LVO and took part in the Verkos Vault painting competition, what an experience it all was. I'd spent nearly 8 weeks solid painting eight to fourteen hours a day getting my Blood Angels Lemartes and Space Wolf Terminators done in time. I finshed the final Wolf at 4:30am on Friday, got three hours sleep and was at the show by noon to enter everything!

Though Friday was exhausting due to lack of sleep, Saturday was the peak of the weekend! My gals daughter and her boyfriend came into town to attend LVO with us! We gathered everyone up, including boy kid and his gal, and headed over to the venue. This was their first time at a Warhammer event and they had an absolute blast! The kids got to check out all of the minis in the painting comp, see the gaming events going on, visit the vendors area and even got to try painting via a paint and take! The entire family was rocking my new Grim Bright shirts too! We all had an absolute blast and I felt beyond blessed to see my family together having such a wonderful time.

Sunday I went back to pick up my minis from the painting comp, and to say I was floored is an understatement. My Blood Angels Squad took Silver. My Space Wolves Squad took Silver and 3rd Place in Squad category overall. My Lemartes took Silver. My old school Logan Grimnar took Bronze. The Tau and Psyker Busts both took an Iron. Keep in mind all I see in my work are the things I dont like and want to improve upon. The fact the judges saw something special enough in my painting to award my minis with such praise is a very strange feeling to me. Im still trying to process that my minis were good enough to receive such merit!

I am taking the week off from painting to decompress. Have things I need to catch up on (ahem, Silksong). Wanted to post about the experience as my heart was so happy seeing the kids have such a wonderful time and update on what I managed via the painting comp! Hope you all have an awesome week!
