Vengorian Lord

My biggest project yet! A small dedication to the big help I received from the Baselair discord community. Not only did those folks help me with technical direction, they were invaluable in helping me move past my fear of painting inadequacy with this project. Also shout out to these Jon Hodgson backdrops I recently got. Still learning how to use them well, but I love them so far. I got the A4 size.
I wish I could've said I went in with more of a plan, but this came together piecemeal. I was aiming for the character to represent a cursed figure who has fully given in to the hunger and power of the Soulblight Curse. Another main thought during my ambitions of this project were to paint something that would strike fear into my tabletop opponents haha.
Technique-wise, I was trying to work on improving my color choices as well as being more conscious of my blending and highlights to try a get some material contrast. As with any project, after taking pics I see 10,000 things I'd probably fix, but this was the longest I've spent on a single mini and was starting to get sick of it. Would love to hear your thoughts about elements that could've driven more towards the goal of intimidating, undead, noble, ancient lord of undeath! (any thoughts are appreciated though)

this is incredible! very smooth blends and transitions of color with a very recognizable light source.
