Dwarf with big gun

I had fun exploring mixing and glazing orange on the green of the jacket. I also had fun with a shiny steel look on the gun. And I rarely paint with black but his gloves and boot soles really needed it and I think it helps warm up the dark skin tone to have a darker cold color around. Also got to sneak in a little copper NMM which is always a fun challenge for me.
This was my first attempt at a snowy base. The base itself is a piece of tree bark and I put little patches of baking soda over dabs of super glue to build up the snow texture. Then I primed and painted it so no baking soda is showing through. I think it could be better but I can live with it and it gave me ideas and experience I can take to the next snow base. All around this was a really fun mini to paint.

It may be somewhat simple compared to some of your other stuff, but this is one of my favorites due to the muted highlights on the gun if nothing else. This thing is a study in restraint... like the medium contrast was more of a choice than a missed opportunity. The hue shifts in the shadows and highlights which provides the contrast so the value doesn't have to carry all the weight. Subtle but really cool.
