Techno Scavenger Lord
I originally got this mini thinking he would lead a proxy Hunter Clade Warhammer 40k Kill team, but found that his base is too big (tactical rock being what it was). I had him lying around until the Full Metal Challenge came around and decided to paint him in the same style as the kill team. I like using dark purple accented by pops of "glowing" green to represent the power source for these robot scavengers bodies and weapon.
The majority of the mini is painted with Vallejo Shifter Green/Silver Blue paint highlighted with straight silver. The purple armor is my first time using the Vallejo True Metallic purple paint and the steel bits are Vallejo Model Color gunmetal.
At Adepticon I took a True Metallic Metal painting class instructed by Bob Cohoon and this was the perfect project to flex some of those techniques to bring out the vibrancy of the metallic paint.
The resin print for this guy is very detailed, but I unfortunately had a hard time keeping him together as just the act of painting the pistol ended up breaking it and that same arm ended up breaking several times while painting this robot dude. Going forward I will likely avoid resin 3D printed models (at least until they get less brittle).
