Speed Freaks is all about machines that move fast! Tanks, bikes, mechs, skimmers, war rigs, and everything else with wheels, tracks, or thrusters that go zoom. Vehicles ask something different of a painter than smaller miniatures do. Broad panels, smooth surfaces, and big blocks of color, which is exactly what makes them so satisfying when they come together. For this month's challenge, paint a vehicle — any scale, any genre. A grimy sci-fi transport, a polished sports car, a mud-caked historical tank, a post-apocalyptic death machine... your choice!
Don't have a vehicle in your pile? Grab a Hot Wheels or Matchbox car for a couple bucks. Die-cast bodies are one of the best surfaces there is for practicing candy coats, metallics, and weathering, and there's no assembly to worry about.
