My entry for this years Mithril Brush and next years Golden Demon. An incredibly challenging piece that pushed my understanding of materials and how to render them. First time painting a horse and mounted figure and tried a lot of new basing techniques. Still some refining to do but happy with the result. Let me know what you think!

For a first time painting a horse, I think you nailed it! The coat looks super realistic. Well done sir!
The base alone is worthy of great praise. Love the little critter! That horse fur is so well textured. It almost looks like a ton of really precise stippling. The horse head armor is sweet too.
