The Watcher

This miniature started as an attempt to recreate a small piece of margin artwork from the Cathay Arcane Journal for Warhammer the Old World. I enjoyed the process of converting the miniatures in the scene, and finished the build in December 2025. Then I put it to sleep for a couple of months while I considered how to approach the paint job. I began painting around Easter 2026 and concluded in time for my local display painting competition, GuildsInn, in late July 2026.

I learnt a lot throughout the painting of this project and was able to push and develop my skills significantly. I received a lot of feedback throughout from the wonderful folks at the Sydney Display Painters Guild and was stoked to receive silver in Masters at GuildsInn26 as well as the CRIKEY! award.
