Colors look nicer on the black but I enjoy the composition a little better on the lighter background IMO. Maybe a like mid tone brown could work well? Though the black is already pretty crispy.
Great job on all those blends on the robey bits but I really love how you’ve done the scythe. The color contrasts in the shadows look rad.
