Away from anything important for the moment so brought the ArcWorlde Fire Dragon by Warp Miniatures as a focused painting project. Not quite sure what my vision for the finalized piece is. Basecoated the flesh with a yellow and the scales with a dark grey. Probably either painting it with flesh with lava-like patterns or as if it was actual lava. Going to do some research before deciding. But regardless, the annoying work of getting those basecoats done is over. Now onto the joy of experimentation!
I did not want to really do human flesh tones for these cyclopes (cyclopses?). So I decided on a color trio and figured I should give them metallics as a fun twist. Naturally I had to do bronze, silver, and gold. Unintentionally, the color progression is from my favorite sculpt to my least favorite sculpt of the lot. Gold is by Dark Sword Miniatures Silver is for the Mortal Gods game Bronze is by Reaper All three will serve whatever needs I have for cyclopes but my particular incentive is to run them for Warriors of Athena
A while back I commissioned a mothman and moth sprites from Alex at Warp Miniatures. He has a whimsical style that has the right balance of detail and canvas that I find a delight to paint. Working on my zenithal undercoat now and will pivot to painting soon
